1.     Definition of Place Description Text, Vocabulary, and Word Order

      a.   Place Description Text

A place description text is a brief and clear explanation of a location, such as the history, features, or uniqueness of a place. The goal is to provide information to readers or users about the place and help them make a decision about whether it is a suitable place for their purposes.

b.     Vocabulary

Vocabulary or what is usually known as vocabulary is a collection of nouns in the structure of the language and is also words used in certain contexts. Then, in terms of usage, vocabulary is divided into two types, namely active vocabulary and passive vocabulary. Words that fall into the active category are a collection of lema that are both understandable and often used. Meanwhile, those that fall into the passive category although easy for you to understand, but difficult to apply.

Types of English Vocabulary are very diverse ranging fromnoun (kata benda), pronoun (kata ganti) verb (kata kerja), adverb (kata keterangan), preposition (kata perangkai), conjuction (konjungsi), dan interjection (kata seru/perintah).

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur temple is one of the most beautiful tourist resorts in Indonesia. It is situated in central Java. Borobudur temple is one of the seven wonders of the world which needs to be preserved its circumstances. The people all over the world know that Borobudur is one of the greatest art works that ever known since long time ago.

Borobudur temple was built by Syailendra Dynasty during the eighth century. It needed more than two million river stones. It is the biggest temple in the world. After going into some restorations, Borobudur is visited by more and more tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists. Most of them admire Borobudur temple because of its beauty, its elegance and the story of the relief on its walls.

Domestic tourists usually go there by bus or private cars, while foreign tourists like to join travel bureau because they don’t need to think of the transportation, accommodation, and itinerary. There are some money changers around the location. It makes them easier to change their money. But some of them like to bring credit cards and checks.

3.     Sample text Description of a Culinary Place

 

Jaten Market

Jaten Market, Kampung Jawi, Semarang City is a culinary place that uses the concept of an ancient village. Jaten Market is located in the Jawi Village area precisely in Kalialang Lama Village, Sukorejo Village, Gunungpati District. When entering Jaten Market, visitors are immediately treated to the atmosphere of a place to eat with wooden and bamboo buildings. Table chairs for visitors are made simple typical of ancient villages. There sells a variety of traditional food and drinks. It is open from 5:00 p.m. The more nightly the atmosphere is more exciting because it is surrounded by soothing yellow lights. Of course, there are also bathrooms, prayer rooms, and parking lots.

Apart from being a beautiful place, this place is crowded because it has many uniqueness. The unique thing here is that the payment does not use cash but uses a "kepeng". Visitors can exchange rupiah with "Kepeng". One Kepeng for Rp. 3,500, if when you are going home, Kepeng is still left, it can be exchanged for rupiah again. Kepeng was a means of exchange in the Majapahit era. The kepeng is made of wood that has a stamp or logo from the jawi village, namely Jaten Market.

This place sells a wide variety of traditional food and drinks. Starting from pecel, Tiwul, Gethuk, Lunpia, Jamu Jun, Gempol ice, gemblong bakar (made from glutinous rice mixed with coconut milk then mashed, served with grilled to make it tastier), Wedang Roti, wedang uwuh, and many more. The price of food here is still in the affordable category. The most expensive price there is only 4 kepeng or Rp. 14,000.

This place is perfect for students, children, and parents. Students can do assignments or hang out with friends, girlfriends and family with fun because there are also accompanied by live music, karaoke and much more. Parents can reminisce about the atmosphere of the ancient village. Several times there also held arts ranging from karawitan, reog jathilan dance, and traditional games.
